Download lossless FLAC audio from Deezer using your ARL cookie.

Before you start

Make sure you've already completed the Qobuz guide steps 1–5 (Install Python, FFmpeg, and streamrip). Deezer only requires adding your ARL token to the config.

Deezer requires a HiFi subscription ($10.99/mo) to download lossless FLAC. The free tier only gives 128kbps MP3.

Get your Deezer ARL cookie

The ARL is a special token stored in your browser after you log in to Deezer. Here's how to find it:

  1. 1. Go to deezer.com and log in to your account
  2. 2. Click the lock icon (or info icon) on the left side of the address bar
  3. 3. Click Cookies
  4. 4. Navigate to deezer.com → Cookies → arl and click on it
  5. 5. Copy the text in the Content section — that's your ARL
The ARL is a long string of letters and numbers — usually 192 characters long. It looks like: a1b2c3d4e5f6...

Add your ARL to the config

Paste your ARL below to generate your ready-to-paste config snippet:

Open your config file:

Type this into Command Prompt, then press Enter
rip config open

Press Ctrl+F, search for [deezer], and paste your ARL into the arl field.

Start downloading

Save config (Ctrl+S), close Notepad, then try a download:

Deezer ARL tokens last a long time — usually months. You won't need to update it often.

Troubleshooting

❌ "Invalid ARL" or authentication error

Your ARL may have expired or been copied incorrectly. Go back to deezer.com, log out and log back in, then grab a fresh ARL from your browser cookies.

❌ Only getting MP3 instead of FLAC

Make sure your Deezer account has an active HiFi subscription and that quality = 2 is set in the [deezer] section of your config.

Find your downloaded files

Your Deezer music will be saved to your streamrip downloads folder. Open File Explorer and navigate to:

C:\Users\YourName\Music\streamrip
⚠️ Can't find it? The folder might be called StreamripDownloads instead. Open File Explorer, click in the address bar, and paste: %USERPROFILE% — then look for a StreamripDownloads folder.
